Stephanie Smith

Stephanie is a registered social worker and member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). She holds an Honours Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Waterloo, and a Master of Social Work through Wilfrid Laurier University.
Stephanie has years of experience working with children and youth, and their parents and families. She has helped them find ways of coping with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma and developing emotion-regulation skills. She is especially passionate about assisting children and their loved ones to recognize their inherent value and identify and utilize their unique abilities, particularly to strengthen connections within caring relationships.
Tailoring her approach to each client, Stephanie uses various methods, including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), relaxation and mindfulness strategies, emotionally-focused therapy (EFT), and narrative techniques. She loves helping individuals and families develop insight and discover how to overcome in the midst of life’s challenges.
Stephanie provides counselling for children, youth and adults. She partners with families to provide guidance and support for parents navigating complex challenges with their children. She is available in the Burlington and Fergus offices.

Please note that at this time, Stephanie is not accepting new clients. If you are a current client, please contact the office directly to inquire about scheduling future sessions. Thank you!
