Group Therapy – Children, Youth & Teens
The Power of Growing Together: Why Group Therapy?
In a world where children often feel “different” because of their struggles, group therapy provides a safe harbor. It is a dynamic space where kids learn, play, and heal alongside peers who truly understand them.
I am not alone
Seeing other children face similar hurdles reduces the stigma and isolation often associated with mental health or behavioral challenges. This sense of validation boosts self-esteem and confidence.
A natural environment
Groups provide a real-time environment to practice social skills. Unlike a one-on-one session with an adult, groups allow children to navigate turn-taking, conflict resolution, and empathy with their peers in a supervised setting
Developing Emotional Intelligence
By observing others express their feelings, childree learn to identify and label their own emotions. This collaborative experience speeds up the development of healthy coping mechanisms.
Improved Communication
Whether through talk, art, or play, group therapy encourages children to find their voice and express their needs clearly and respectfully
I’ve Got This: Mastering my Emotions
Aimed at equipping children and parents with skills and education as it relates to emotional regulation. Using the phrase “I’ve got this”, children will learn about how everyone experiences Emotions, love, anger, sadness. Sometimes
we experience Big Emotions that can seem to just take over. Youth will learn to face tough emotions with power and influence.
This group is unique in that parents will also be in session at the same time, learning about what their children are experiencing, and learn what strategies to use to best support their child. At the end of each session, the parent
and child will come together and do some skills practice and learning together.
